Hello!

My name is Kasey and I am the artist behind [Kasey McCoy Photography]. I live in a small, quiet country town with my husband and our two kids and our two dogs and our cat and our 9 chickens. This photographic journey of mine started way back in 2007. ... Actually is started sooner than that as I have always had a fascination with taking photographs. But as with any new Mama, I too became obsessed with capturing all of the moments after my son was born. When my daughter was born in 2013, I became even more obsessed with all things photography but at this point in my journey, I could feel myself evolving as a photographer (and not just a momtog). I started a photography business in 2014 to further my interest in this passion of mine and although all of the couples and families and babies that I have had the pleasure of capturing, were nothing but amazing, I felt as though I wasn't 100% in it, at least not at the time. So in 2016 I decided to close my business and kept things personal with capturing everyday moments right here on our little farm.

If there was one thing to describe myself as an artist is would be that I am ever changing. I continually roll through new ideas or creative thoughts and although I might not get to them all (and some I fail terribly at), I accept the chaos within my own creative process. I strive to try new things and as someone who is obsessed with light and shadows, I am continually trying to use those elements in my images for a more dramatic and emotional approach to my [everyday].

Aside from the photography bit, I am a graphic designer as well as an avid watercolor & acrylic artist (so don't be surprised if you see a blog post or two... or three, pop up here and there pertaining to all things painting and graphic design goodness and shop stuff). ...  I sometimes sew things and sometimes I get crafty. I love to cook and bake and love anything to do with a fresh hot cup of coffee, no matter the time of day. As an introvert, I am a bit of a hermit and I am totally okay with that. I enjoy real conversations that can sometimes get a bit too deep (even for me). And I have a deep love for late afternoon thunderstorms and being out in nature to dwell on my hopes & dreams, to sit contently while listening to the wild air.

And most of all, I love my family more than anything ... (and my chickens!) <3
